Success in 2024
A trip to Art Miami in early December was my first time participating in an Art Fair of that scale.
Art Aqua Miami was held at the Aqua Hotel in Miami Beach. I was part of a group of artists presented by Ross Contemporary, a Chicago Gallery with extensive experience in the world of Art Fairs. Our room was professionally hung by gallery owner Terry Ross and his assistants.
During the fair my painting, “Ominous Beauty I”, sold to collectors; a lovely couple from the New Jersey area. I think the best part of doing a fair is the chance to interact with so many people and talk about my work.

Back at home in Chicago,I held an open house and studio sale to celebrate the release of The Story in Roots and Rocks, my small works project for 2024. I had a wonderful time and am so grateful to all who attended. The afternoon was a huge success, and several people went home with new art from the series and from my studio archive.
A Great Start to 2025

Additionally, I have been invited by Chicago gallerist Dan Addington to hang work in the sanctuary of the First Free Church of Chicago. Dan curates the space for his church which has hosted a number of accomplished Chicago area artists. 11 of my large-scale paintings are in this show. The congregation will have a chance to experience them in a peaceful and contemplative space. There will be a public reception to be determined at some time in the future. I will send out an announcement when I have more information.

Looking Ahead in the Studio
I am busy developing new work using a technique of photo transfer learned from artist Patti Russotti during an extensive three-day workshop held in the studio of artist Jeff Hirst. This technique opens a new way for me to add imagery into my work. I am just learning, but excited to see the possibilities.
