Fall 2023 News

Here’s what’s happening in the next few months.

It was a busy late summer and there’s even more happening this Fall! I was so happy to have been included in Woman Made Gallery’s 6th Midwest Open, juried by Chicago Gallerist, Kimberly Oliva

The Regional Open ran from 9/2 to 9/30/ 2023 and concluded with an informative artist walk through the gallery. Artists were allowed 7 minutes to talk about their work. It was an honor to have my painting, ” Rejuvenation”, chosen for the show.

I am very pleased to announce that two of my recent paintings were chosen for inclusion in “Connections”, presented by FUSEDChicago in their first national exhibition, juried by Barbara O’Brien.  Ms. O’Brien is an independent curator and critic based in Milwaukee. She was Executive Director of the Kemper Museum of Contemporary Art in Kansas City, Missouri, from 2012 to 2017 after serving as chief curator and director of exhibitions since 2009. O’Brien has a longstanding interest in and commitment to the community of artists who incorporate encaustic into their practice. She was the Keynote Speaker at the International Encaustic Conference in both 2008 and 2013.

FUSEDChicago is an organization of artists based in the Midwest who share an interest in encaustic, a method of making art using pigmented wax fused to a surface by heat.
