Caring for Your Encaustic Painting
Wax media has been around for thousands of years. It is durable and archival.
A few guidelines will help you protect your artwork:
1. Protect from extremes of heat and cold. Do Not hang in direct sunlight or where heat will blow on it. Do not hang against an exterior wall in winter during cold weather if the wall has no insulation.
2. Wax will not begin to melt until at least 150 degrees F but avoid hanging in direct sunlight.
3. Protect the surface from scratches or gouges.
4. If your painting becomes dusty in appearance, it can be dusted and buffed gently with a soft dry cloth
