Encaustic on panel with a natural wood frame, 32” x 42”
This is an encaustic painting on panel consisting of many layers of transparent wax inspired by the place where ancient limestone meets the water along the shores of Lake Michigan. Colors include deep greens, golds, gold, transparent grays and whites. For me, the water's edge is a powerful metaphor for the beginning of a journey and for standing at the edge of the unknown.
